Latest Liverpool news and gossip as Arne Slot and Co. prepare to face Newcastle at St James' Park in the Premier League
Cody Gakpo of Liverpool has dropped a team news hint ahead of the clash against Newcastle
Some Liverpool players have dropped early team news hints ahead of their Premier League clash against Newcastle United. The Reds travel to face the Magpies at St James' Park as they look to continue their impressive start to the season.
Arne Slot's side claimed a 2-0 win over Manchester City at the weekend to take a nine-point lead over second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table. Liverpool are also 11 points ahead of City after their victory at Anfield, and will hope to secure another victory when they take on Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
It has become common for players to occasionally post pre-match graphics on their social media channels in the hours leading up to a match. Some members of the Liverpool squad have done just that in the hours before the Reds take on Newcastle at St James' Park.

Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai have all posted pre-match graphics on their Instagram stories on Wednesday morning. While it is never a guarantee, such posts are often an indication that the players may be in the starting line-up or, at a minimum, in the matchday squad for the upcoming fixture.
Gakpo, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai were all in the starting line-up for Liverpool's win over City on Sunday afternoon. Gakpo's goal took his goal tally up to eight for the season in all competitions, and Slot will also have the option of starting Darwin Nunez with Diogo Jota still unavailable due to injury.
Gravenberch and Szoboszlai played the full 90 minutes in the win over City, and it remains to be seen if Slot will want to hand the duo another start with a busy schedule ahead over Christmas and New Year. Liverpool had Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Trey Nyoni and Tyler Morton as midfield options on the bench for the victory at Anfield on Sunday.
