Kieron Freeman in action for Derby County
Former Derby County defender Kieron Freeman is playing for ambitious non-league outfit Spalding United after leaving Hartlepool in the National League.
The former Rams full-back was released by Pools in October having made seven appearances for the club on a short-term deal.
Freeman had suffered an injury in September, but once he returned to fitness, Pools made the decision to let him leave.
That left 32-year-old Freeman in limbo but he is now playing for Spalding United who also have ex-Reading captain Liam Moore playing in their defence.
Freeman's arrival at Spalding was not officially announced on their website but he has been playing for the Southern League Premier Division Central since the end of October.
He is part of a Spalding side that also includes ex-Rams striker Bart Cybulski who joined the Tulips from King's Lynn.
Freeman made 27 appearances in all competitions for Derby after the Rams signed him from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee in 2012. He spent three years at Pride Park but during that time had loan spells at Notts County, Sheffield United and Mansfield.
United made his move permanent when they signed him on a free transfer and he went on to make more than 100 league appearances for the Blades. Since then, he has had spells with Swindon, Swansea, Portsmouth, Oldham and Pools.
