West Ham United haven’t set a deadline over a decision on whether to sack Julen Lopetegui, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist reports [4 December] that while the Hammers are discussing the future of the Spaniard, they’ve put no timeline on it, and all options are being considered.
The Irons crashed to a 3-1 defeat against Leicester at the King Power Stadium on 3 December, leaving the 58-year-old head coach fighting to save his job.
The Irons have 15 points in the Premier League and have lost seven of their 14 fixtures this season.

Lopetegui can’t continue at the East London club after the performances on display in the current campaign.

The Spaniard was provided quality reinforcements in the summer but has been unable to bring the best out of them.
David Sullivan needs to pull the trigger before things get worse at the London Stadium, with the Hammers’ fans chanting for the 58-year-old to be sacked at the King Power.
West Ham got rid of David Moyes after his relatively successful stint in the dugout, and while many supporters wanted to see the Scotsman depart, Lopetegui is clearly not the answer.

The Irons were all over the place defensively at the King Power — like they have been all season — despite having players like Max Kilman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Konstantinos Mavropanos on the pitch.
If results go against the East London club in the coming weeks, they could find themselves in the drop zone.
The Hammers’ hierarchy can no longer ignore Lopetegui’s ineptitude, and delaying his inevitable sacking will only put question marks on the boardroom’s capabilities.
