Tottenham Hotspur will be taking on Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in Gameweek 14 of the Premier League in a late kick-off tomorrow night, and Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways after dropping points against Fulham at White Hart Lane last weekend.
The Cherries enjoyed a 4-2 away win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend while Spurs struggled to capitalise on Tom Cairney’s red card and settled for a draw against Fulham. And Arsenal icon Paul Merson insists that the Lilywhites are set to drop points once again when they travel to Bournemouth.
Merson predicted Spurs to lose against Fulham; however, that wasn’t the case with points shared. However, he was right when he suggested that the game wouldn’t be as straightforward against the West Londoners.

Tottenham face set-back as Tijjani Reijnders enter contract extension talks.
Going into GW14, the 56-year-old thinks Tottenham’s inconsistency will come to the surface once again. Writing in his column for SportsKeeda, he predicted a 2-1 win for the hosts:
“Spurs were expected to kick on after that 4-0 win over Manchester City. But they have actually been quite disappointing in draws against mid-table sides like Roma and Fulham.
“I don’t usually go against Tottenham a lot in my predictions, but I’m changing that here because they’ve been frustrating to watch since that win over City. I’m backing Bournemouth to get the win on home turf.”
The North Londoners certainly have the quality in the ranks to easily overcome a team like Bournemouth; however, Spurs have struggled away from home, and a lack of killer instinct in front of goal can compound into another slip-up.
For Tottenham, a win is very important if they are to keep the top-four hopes alive, and Ange’s side will need to prove that they can handle the pressure and deliver a result in matches like these. However, if Merson’s prediction rings true, there will be massive doubts among the Spurs faithful about the Lilywhites ability to compete at the highest level in the ongoing campaign.
