On 16 September, a new adventure began for Giorgio Chiellini at Juventus, this time in a managerial role, more specifically as Head of Football Institutional Relations.
It is a role that has seen Chiellini involved in representing the club in relations with national and international football institutions for a few months now. The job ties in perfectly with the training he has acquired in his academic field, but also with all that he has experienced during his long and successful career as a footballer.
Now he has been bestowed a new honour, this time from the European Club Association (ECA). In fact, Chiellini has been appointed as a member of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee. This new position will see him involved in the dynamics and, consequently, the decision making regarding UEFA competitions at club level. Also appointed alongside him were Andre Villas Boas (FC Porto) and Niclas Carlnen (Malmö FF).
“I am grateful for the trust the European Club Association (ECA) has placed in me by appointing me as a member of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee,” said Giorgio Chiellini. “It is a position of great responsibility, thanks to which I will have the opportunity to share my experience and contribute to the future of European football, with my usual passion and dedication.”
