Kasper Hjulmand is a candidate to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham if the Spaniard is sacked, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The former Wolves manager could be sacked imminently with some board members losing faith in him already after the defeat at Leicester [Dharmesh Sheth].
The German journalist reports that the Irons are looking at the Dane, who is said to be ready to return to management after he stepped down as Denmark manager in July 2024.
Is Kasper Hjulmand the right man for West Ham?
The Irons can ill-afford to get their next appointment wrong if they do relieve Lopetegui of his duties at the London Stadium.
They sit 14th in the Premier League, just six points above the relegation zone after embarrassing defeats to Arsenal and Leicester City which saw Hammers fans join in with “sacked in the morning” chants.

Hjulmand’s most notable achievement was guiding the Danish national team to the semi-finals of Euro 2020 where they were eliminated by England due to a controversial penalty decision in extra time.
His club management career has seen two relatively successful stints at FC Nordsjaelland and an unsuccessful one at Mainz in Germany.
The appointment of Hjulmand would be a risk but the football would surely be a lot more exciting than what is currently being served up in East London.
In other West Ham news, a former Irons captain could be set to replace Lopetegui if Jamie O’Hara gets his way.
