Anthony Gordon isn’t in the good books of the Everton fans, and he won’t have helped himself with his recent prediction about Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
Everton actually acquired Anthony Gordon from the Liverpool youth setup back in 2012, and he rose through the academy ranks before breaking onto the scene in December of 2017.
Gordon scored seven goals and assisted eight in his 78 appearances for the Toffees, before joining Newcastle United for a fee of £45 million.
However, the way he conducted himself prior to his exit was what really annoyed Everton fans, as Gordon refused to play against West Ham and didn’t train in his final days.
And he’s now made a prediction about Liverpool that may annoy Everton fans slightly.

Anthony Gordon predicts Liverpool to win the Premier League title
Anthony Gordon angered Everton fans when he stated Anfield was the best stadium in the Premier League outside of St James’ Park.
“Yeah, other than St James’ it’s Anfield by far. I think because I’m from the city I grew up watching it, but I just think before they game when they sing You’ll Never Walk Alone… It’s top. It’s top-level.”
And he’s now gone and spoke highly about the Reds once again, predicting them to lift the Premier League title when asked on international duty.

Everton fans won’t be too happy at Anthony Gordon’s prediction
Of course, Anthony Gordon grew up supporting Liverpool and is still a fan now, but he’s been criticised for a lack of respect to Everton over the years.
The reaction to Gordon’s penalty miss earlier on this season at Goodison Park was the prime example of how fans really feel about him, as that was a highlight for many.
Gordon has admitted he was desperate to leave Everton and that a lack of credit from the fans hurt him, but can you blame them after refusing to train?
The winger had this to say back in 2021 when talking about Everton (as per Sky Sports).
“It means everything to me and my family because I’m a local lad. This is my city, it’s where I was born. I was brought up here, watching Everton and dreaming of doing what I’m doing now, so to finally be doing it, it couldn’t be much better.”
After making these kind of comments, you can understand why there may be some annoyance.
