West Ham will make a decision whether to sack Julen Lopetegui by Friday and the list of potential replacements is becoming clear.
The owners of West Ham will hold a summit in the next 72 hours where a decision will be made on the future of Julen Lopetegui.
Sky Sports and others are claiming the Hammers are leaning more towards sacking Lopetegui than not.
West Ham have shipped eight goals in shambolic defeats to Arsenal and Leicester.
That has piled new pressure on Lopetegui just a week after he looked to have turned a corner with a win at Newcastle.
Before that shock result at St James’s Park, Jamie Carragher stated he thinks West Ham appointed the wrong manager for what they want in Lopetegui.
Even after the win, Carragher warned West Ham’s owners and fans not to get carried away, suggesting it could be a false dawn.
That has proved to be unerringly accurate.
A dozen managers were linked as potential replacements for the Spaniard over the international break.

Elite Allegri puts English lessons to good use in West Ham talks
Particularly as it was not the first time he had been mentioned as being among those in West Ham’s sights.
A European football expert claimed Max Allegri was on standby for the West Ham job after being seen in London last week.
The ex Juventus and AC Milan manager has a stunning 14 major trophies to his name with those two clubs.
Allegri has also twice been a losing Champions League finalist as a manager.
Allergri was actually linked with the Hammers earlier this month.
So when he was spotted in London last week it set tongues wagging.
It was revealed the 57-year-old had been in the capital for nearly two weeks taking an English course as he looks to land a Premier League job.
Leading Sky Sports European football expert Dougie Critchley said he believed Allegri is on standby for West Ham.

Italian has told Hammers salary he’d expect
In the wake of the Leicester defeat which has put Lopetegui on the brink, Sun journalist Jack Rosser has named Allegri as one of the manager’s on West Ham’s shortlist.
It seems he has a good enough grasp of English now to let the Hammers know what he’d expect to take over at the London Stadium.
According to Calciomercato, Allegri is indeed on West Ham’s shortlist – as well as Newcastle’s.
And he has told the Hammers hierarchy he would want a salary of £6.5m per year to replace Lopetegui.
That’s around £3m more than the reported £3.5m the Spaniard is on in east London.
The Hammers previously paid Manuel Pellegrini a whopping £8.5m per year.
Allegri’s demands are of course offset by the fact he is a free agent, which would mean West Ham won’t have to pay to get him out of a club.
After a hugely successful spell in Turn, the reported Hammers target was sacked by Juve in May.
The Hammers are also being linked with Sergio Conceicao, Edin Terzic and Graham Potter – to name but a few.
A decision is due on Lopetegui’s future in the next 72 hours.
So Allegri won’t have long to wait to find out if he is really in the running.
