Arsenal face Manchester United in the first meeting of Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim since the Portuguese coach’s appointment at the club. The pair have met before when in charge of Sporting CP where the Gunners fell in the Europa League.
Arteta will be hoping to secure a fourth straight victory after scoring 13 goals in three matches including five in the last two. There are some fitness concerns for his squad though and he was not forthcoming with details about some key figures.
Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori, Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino and Myles Lewis-Skelly are of concern while both Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain sidelined with long-term issues. However, the Gunners are far from alone in their shortcomings.
United will be dealing with the suspensions of both Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo. While Luke Shaw confirmed he has also had a setback but Leny Yoro, who was injured in a pre-season match with Arsenal, is now in contention to return to the squad.
