Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain forward Xavi Simons, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The Dutchman is currently on loan at RB Leipzig but there is a good chance that he could leave PSG on a permanent basis at the end of the season. Ornstein says Europe’s elite are watching Simons’s situation:
“Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern, Liverpool and Real Madrid are seen as the most probable destinations, while Manchester United showed some interest during the previous market. PSG view Simons as a golden opportunity either way; they either retain a top talent or trade him at a huge profit. Unless something goes badly wrong, his anticipated transfer fee is €80million [£66m] minimum.”

Simons is out injured at the moment
The 21-year-old sustained ankle ligament damage in the Champions League fixture against Liverpool back in October and he is not expected to play again before the end of the calendar year.
If Simons does perform well in the second half of the season after his return to fitness, though, there could be a scramble for his signature.
Do Liverpool need to sign another forward?
With six strikers/wingers in the first-team squad (including Federico Chiesa), head coach Arne Slot is not short of options up front.
However, with doubts over the future of Mo Salah and (potentially) Darwin Nunez, it is not a surprise that Simons is being looked at. The fact that he is young and can play multiple positions across the front line means he will be a very attractive target.
