Darren Bent touted Thomas Frank as a possible replacement for Julen Lopetegui as he feels West Ham are a bigger club than Brentford.
Lopetegui’s position as head coach of the Hammers is seemingly hanging by a thread after Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to Leicester City, though David Ornstein (4 December) said there is no timeline on a decision being made.
Still, the Hammers are seemingly looking at other candidates (Florian Plettenberg, 4 December) and former Tottenham striker Bent – speaking live on talkSPORT (4 December, 4:29pm) – named Frank as a possible replacement.
During a discussion with co-host Andy Goldstein, Bent said: “Thomas Frank?”
Goldstein asked if he could see Frank leaving the Bees for their London rivals, to which Bent replied: “West Ham are a bigger club than Brentford, though.”

Thomas Frank deserves West Ham opportunity
It does feel a bit of a surprise that Brentford boss Frank has not yet been given an opportunity to test himself with one of the quote-unquote big clubs in the Premier League given the excellent job he has done with Brentford.
Right now, it seems like the top-flight’s so-called “big six” are reluctant to take a punt on the Dane but he is clearly a very talented coach, who maybe is reaching somewhat of a ceiling with Brentford.

Call it arrogance if you like, but the Irons gig is a bigger job and the potential at West Ham feels pretty vast if they can get the right man in place to bring it all together.
Most can now surely agree that Lopetegui is not that man and at this point the kindest thing to do is put him out of his misery. Appointing Frank, if he fancied taking the gamble, would be an excellent upgrade.
