Hansi Flick has admitted he’s not too happy with the current offside system after seeing his [Barcelona team beat Real Mallorca 5-1](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/3/24309880/mallorca-barcelona-la-liga-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions).
The Catalans are playing a very high line under Flick which has often seen opponents have goals ruled for offside some time after the offence occurred.
It was the same story against Mallorca on Tuesday, and Flick told reporters after the game he does not like it when offside is not whistled when it’s a clear call.
> “I do not care about the number of offsides Mallorca committed. I never look at the statistics,” he said.
>
> “What I do not understand is that there are situations where the offside is clear by five metres, and my players have to run back, exhausting themselves for no reason. It makes no sense.”
>
> “I understand letting play go on when there is doubt, but if it is clear, it does not make sense to me. I cannot understand it.”
It’s an understandable complaint from Flick, particularly as players also run the risk of picking up injuries as they chase back and are forced into challenges which may ultimately prove needless.
