West Ham will decide on Julen Lopetegui’s future in the next 48 hours.
Lopetegui is under mounting pressure and the club's board is expected to meet to discuss whether to change the manager after a disappointing start to the campaign. West Ham backed the former Real Madrid and Spain boss heavily in the transfer market last summer with a £120m spending spree and the hope was he could steer them towards a European place.
But the West Ham fans turned on the 58-year-old Spaniard who is now clinging to his job by a thread. West Ham have managed just one win in their last five games.

The club hierarchy have been determined to give Lopetegui every chance to succeed and have resisted firing him. They must now decide whether to give him the opportunity to turn things around or make a change.
But the defeat at Leicester on Tuesday night have put him under fresh pressure while the lack of an obvious replacement may have given him a stay of execution so far.

The bookies have now made Lopetegui the odds-on favourite to be the first Premier League manager to be sacked. The fans have already turned as away supporters chanted: “You’re getting sacked in the morning” after the Leicester defeat.
Hammers technical director Tim Steidten is also facing questions as Lopetegui was brought in last summer to replace David Moyes who had taken the club into Europe and won a European trophy during his reign.
Ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, a former coach at West Ham, is on the shortlist of potential replacements
Lopetegui’s CV meant he was a big coup for West Ham but it has not worked out so far. It has also been reported that he had a bust-up with defender Jean-Clair Todibo in the dressing room during last Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal.
Former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao, ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic and Graham Potter, the former Chelsea and Brighton head coach, are among the candidates as potential replacements.
