Tottenham are said to be leading the race for a Premier League striker in January to strengthen their attack amid injury struggles.
Tottenham are reportedly leading the race to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in January, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options during a season plagued by injuries to key forwards.
The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for Ipswich, scoring six goals in 14 Premier League games since his summer arrival, further enhancing his reputation as one of England's brightest young talents.
Delap notably shone during Ipswich's 2-1 victory over Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month, where he scored one goal and set up another.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with top clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal also said to be monitoring the young forward’s progress.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has weighed in, suggesting that Manchester City, Delap’s boyhood club, are unlikely to make a move for him despite speculation.

Robinson highlighted City’s trend of letting academy players leave permanently to find regular football, citing FFP constraints and the example of Cole Palmer’s departure to Chelsea.
Delap isn’t the only name linked with a move to North London. Tottenham are also reportedly eyeing Mexican international Santiago Gimenez, who has been making waves at Feyenoord.
The 23-year-old forward has impressed with his clinical finishing and ability to lead the line, attracting attention from across Europe.
However, Spurs may face stiff competition from AC Milan and Nottingham Forest, both of whom are rumoured to be keen on the striker.
Tottenham’s need for reinforcements stems from a combination of factors. Summer signing Dominic Solanke has managed only six goals in 17 appearances, his season disrupted by minor injuries.
Meanwhile, both Son Heung-Min and Richarlison have struggled for fitness, leaving manager Ange Postecoglou with limited options up front.
While Tottenham spent big on Solanke in the summer, their current striker shortage might force them back into the market.
Delap’s performances suggest he could provide immediate impact, while Giménez’s international pedigree makes him another intriguing option.
With Tottenham looking to stay competitive in the Premier League and push for European qualification, January could prove pivotal.
Whether it’s Delap, Gimenez, or another surprise target, Postecoglou will need reinforcements to navigate the second half of the campaign successfully.
