Exclusive: David Sullivan holds talks with West Ham's board over Julen Lopetegui's future as majority decision made

West Ham United have endured their worst start to a Premier League in more than a decade and pressure is mounting on owner David Sullivan to axe manager Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City on Tuesday evening, which led to calls from many West Ham fans to make a change.

TBR Football understands that David Sullivan has been left considering his options and we are told that he was ready to change the manager, who was only appointed in the summer.

However, we understand that Sullivan, who personally interviewed Lopetegui ahead of selecting him as the top candidate to replace David Moyes, will only make a change if the club’s board agreed to the move.

TBR Football understands that following talks with fellow board members, it is understood that a slim majority remain in favour of keeping the Spaniard.

Sullivan for his part would only want to make a change if they had the right candidate to replace him and he has never wanted to make a mid-season appointment.
