Stuart Pearce delivers verdict on Nottingham Forest prior to Man City game, raves about…

Nottingham Forest are preparing to take on Manchester City and Stuart Pearce is in place at the Etihad Stadium.

Forest beat Ipswich Town on Saturday to get back to winning ways after two successive defeats against Arsenal and Newcastle.

The Reds go into tonight’s games in sixth place in the Premier League and that does feel lofty, to say the least.

Pep Guardiola has praised Forest going into this game but they will be hoping to address an alarming run of form tonight.

Stuart Pearce delivers Nottingham Forest verdict and praises top star

The Forest legend has a foot in both camps this evening having played for and managed both of tonight’s teams.

Pearce knows what it takes to captain a team to a third-place finish in the Premier League having done so with Forest during the 1994/95 campaign.

Tonight, Forest face a formidable opposition – despite their recent struggles – and it will be tough to take anything back to Nottingham.

The £80,000-a-week Wood equalled Bryan Roy’s record of 24 Premier League goals for Forest at the weekend and he’s been praised by Pearce ahead of tonight.

He told Amazon Prime: “They’ve had a magnificent start to the season, I must say, Wood is on fire and they will come here with him in the team thinking they can get a result.”

Confirmed Nottingham Forest team to play Manchester City

The team news has also been announced in the last 45 minutes, with Forest making some changes.

Nuno Espirito Santo has named the following team to face the reigning champions away from home.

Matz Sels

Ola Aina

Nikola Milenkovic

Murillo

Alex Moreno

Ryan Yates (C)

Nicolas Dominguez

Anthony Elanga

Morgan Gibbs-White

Jota Silva

Chris Wood

Substitutes: Carlos Miguel, Neco Williams, Elliot Anderson, Eric da Silva Moreira, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Taiwo Awoniyi, James Ward-Prowse, Morato, Ramon Sosa

Forest have chosen to bring Moreno back in which does feel like the right move, with Dominguez and Elanga also coming back into the fray.

With another game in Manchester against United on Saturday, it’s all about horses for courses and hopefully, Forest can give things a good go tonight.
