Man United will meet Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday, without four key players. The Red Devils will travel to north London midweek after defeating Everton 4-0 on Sunday. Two of the under performing players Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scored a brace in that game. This helped Ruben Amorim to get his first Premier League win.
But Amorim’s real test is waiting ahead of him. As United will play **Arsenal**midweek. The Gunners are in superb form lately. They have scored 13 goals in their last three games. And their most recent victim were West Ham as they got defeated 5-2 on Saturday.
These Man United players will not feature against Arsenal
However, both teams have their own injury issues. As key players for Arsenal like Gabriel, Calafiori, Partey, and Merino’s fitness are in question. While United are also not in good shape ahead of the fixture. There is no doubt that the win over Everton gave the side a huge boost. But it also came with a cost.
Important squad players Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo received yellow cards against the Toffees last weekend. And they will now face a one-match suspension. So, the duo will not be travelling to North London and it will force Amorim to make changes.
Defense is the major concern for Man United ahead of the game. Especially since the system of a back three needs an additional center defender. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are expected to remain and must be joined by one. It is highly expected that ace defender Harry Maguire will be starting to replace Martinez.
On the other hand defender Victor Lindelof and fullback Luke Shaw will also miss the game due to injuries. However, there is also a good news for the Man United fans amidst these concerns. As per the reports of the Mirror, Leny Yoro will be available in the bench for the first time in the Premier League.
Author’s opinion :
Undoubtedly, Arsenal are one of the toughest opponent’s the new manager Ruben Amorim will be facing this season. It is also his first real challenge since joining. Though injury and suspension issues are there but the way Man United played the last game will surely give the fans some confidence.
