Gabriel Magalhaes is out of Arsenal's Premier League clash with Manchester United.
The Brazilian was taken off at half time during Saturday's 5-2 win over West Ham United with what Mikel Arteta later confirmed was an issued picked up in last week's Champions League victory over Sporting CP.
"It was related to the previous injury he had in Lisbon," the Spaniard said on Saturday. "He did great to be a part of that. With that result and the state he is feeling, we decided to take him off."
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday night's clash with United, Arteta revealed a late decision would be made on Gabriel's availability for the match. "We're gonna have a meeting this afternoon," Arteta said. "We have done a training session.
"We monitored and kept some players away from certain activities. After that meeting I will decide which ones are fit and available and who will start."
Included in the group Arteta was asked about were Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino and Thomas Partey. Of the trio only the latter is available to start.
That means that Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko come into the Arsenal back line. They are joined by William Saliba and Jurrien Timber.
In the midfield it's Partey who is given the nod in the number six position ahead. Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are ahead of him. Odegaard starts despite rumours regarding his availability for Wednesday night's match.
The Arsenal forward line is then made up of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli. Martinelli replaces Leandro Trossard despite the fact that the Belgian scored against West Ham on Saturday.
