West Ham United were “absolutely shocking” in defence as they crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday, Adrian Durham says.
Durham couldn’t believe what he was watching at the King Power Stadium on 3 December and feels the London Stadium faithful have every right to be angry.
Julen Lopetegui suffered his seventh defeat in the Premier League as the Irons’ manager clings to his job, with replacements lined up [The Sun].
Speaking on talkSPORT [4 December, 7:11], Durham said: “The defending was absolutely shocking from West Ham last night, and I understand totally why the fans were as angry as they were.
“I can’t really see a future for Lopetegui.”

Lopetegui can rightly argue that the Hammers put in one of their better performances of the season against the Foxes, dominating possession, taking 31 shots and managing an xG of 3.1, as per FotMob.
The Spaniard can’t hide away from the fact that despite their dominance on the ball, the Hammers struggled defensively, with Leicester creating seven big chances and scoring three goals.
Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka must be questioned for allowing Leicester to hit that tally with an xG of 1.67.
West Ham are stuck at 15 points in the table and are creeping closer towards the relegation zone with every defeat.

Lopetegui can’t expect to keep a hold of his job at the London Stadium if things don’t change.
The Spanish manager could also be sacked in the coming days as the Irons look for replacements.
It doesn’t feel like things will change under the 58-year-old, and with the pessimistic mood around him, the best thing would be for David Sullivan to hit the reset button.
