Tottenham are prioritising defensive addition
Ange Postecoglou is thought to be keen on bolstering his defence in January, particularly given the fitness issues of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
While several names have been mooted as targets for the club over recent weeks, it has now emerged that the Lilywhites have turned their sights towards Lens starlet Abdukodir Khusanov.
The 20-year-old arrived at the French club in the summer from Belarusian side Energetik-BGU Minsk for a fee of €100,000, but he has surprised everyone, having forced himself into the Ligue 1 club’s starting eleven.

Tottenham facing competition from a direct rival
The above update comes from The Telegraph, who say that although Tottenham are keen on Khusanov, they will have to beat out another Premier League to sign the youngster.
This is because the versatile centre-back, who can also play in midfield, is also of interest to Newcastle United, who see him as a ‘promising talent’ and believe that he is ready to play in the Premier League.
The outlet points out that other English clubs are also watching the Uzbekistan international, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked.

Lens could make a huge profit
The report states that even though Lens only signed Khusanov in the summer, they could sell him in the upcoming transfer window for the right fee.
It is revealed that the Ligue 1 side are eyeing a huge profit on the defender and currently value him at £25m.
The publication adds that Lens have got big money for the likes of Lois Openda and Elye Wahi recently and Khusanov could be the club’s next big sale in January.
