Real Madrid targeting two Liverpool stars

With a hectic festive schedule ahead, Premier League clubs will also be planning ahead for the upcoming January transfer window.

Premier League leaders Liverpool hold a nine-point lead over second-placed Arsenal going into their game against Newcastle United on Wednesday, but manager Arne Slot could still look to bolster his squad when the window reopens.

While the Reds may look to sign new players in the new year, a number of their key players could also leave Anfield next year.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are all currently in the final year of their respective contracts, and the former has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Now, it appears that the reigning European champions could be eyeing up moves for more than one Liverpool star.

As per GiveMeSport, Real are also interested in midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

The 22-year-old joined Liverpool from German giants Bayern Munich last summer and, after a mixed debut season in England, the Dutchman has established himself as one of Slot’s most important players this term.

Gravenberch has emerged as a target for Real Madrid

Gravenberch has played in all 18 of the Reds’ matches across the Premier League and Champions League so far this season, and it appears that his impressive displays have attracted interest from Real Madrid.

The report claims that Liverpool will not even entertain offers for the Netherlands during the upcoming January transfer window but, despite this, the Spanish champions are considering a move for the midfielder in the future.

Gravenberch is contracted to Liverpool until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, having signed a £150,000-per-week long-term deal with the Merseyside club when he signed in a £34 million deal last year.

Real are without key midfielder Toni Kroos after the German’s retirement over the summer, and his former teammate Luka Modric also faces an uncertain future as he approaches his 40th birthday.
