Reds legend Robbie Fowler has given his thoughts on Mohamed Salah's unresolved contract situation at Liverpool
Former Liverpool football player Robbie Fowler looks on
Liverpool should do everything within their power to keep Mohamed Salah at the club, no matter the cost. That is what club legend Robbie Fowler has implored Anfield chiefs to do amid ongoing contract negotiations.
With his current deal covering only the remainder of the season as things stand, Salah has done all he can to prove his worth to this Reds team by scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. In recent weeks he has been outspoken about the situation, revealing his disappointment in not yet being presented an offer.
Liverpool's fifth all-time top scorer also wishes to stay put, and the club's seventh all-time top scorer has told them the 'simple answer' is to make that happen.

"I’d give him what he wants, I think that’s the simple answer," Fowler told Amazon Prime Video Sport ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Providing an explaining, he added: "I’m not big on the involvement, I’m big on the goals. Mo Salah’s performances for Liverpool for the contract he wants, he is a fantastic player, he is a game player that can win and change the game in a second.
"I mean, the word I like to describe him is he is brilliant. He doesn’t look comfortable, he doesn’t look technical but his stats and his numbers are incredible."
Finally, he pleaded with a warning: "I am stood here as a Liverpool fan, Liverpool just give him that contract and sign it because whoever comes in after him is gonna cost a lot more money. Go and give him the money."
According to The Athletic on Wednesday, the club are due to present their first contract proposal to the Egyptian 'imminently' after 'positive' recent talks.
