EXCLUSIVE with Graeme Bailey
Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool make up a handful of England’s elite clubs.
The Citizens have won the last four Premier League titles in a row, the Reds currently sit top of the Premier League, while Spurs are regulars when it comes to qualifying for Europe.
Despite that, each side is always looking for ways in which they can improve their squad, with Manchester City signing Claudio Echeverri for the future – a similar move to Liverpool capturing Rio Ngumoha.
However, TBR Football understand Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham were also closely monitoring Tijjani Reijnders of AC Milan in a bid to improve their squads now, with sources providing an update on the Dutchman.
Tijjani Reijnders set to stay with AC Milan despite interest from Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool
TBR Football have now been informed that the Netherlands international is set to reject advances from the Premier League and sign a new contract with AC Milan.
Reijnders has become a star of European football this season, netting seven goals and providing three assists in just 18 appearances – already a huge improvement on his 2023/24 campaign, which yielded only four goals and four assists in 50 games.
TBR Football understand Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool have all been left impressed by the 26-year-old’s form, and he did have his head turned by interest from the Premier League.

However, the man born in Zwolle is said to be loving life in Milan right now, and is ready to sign a new deal with the Italian giants – in a move that would also thwart PSG and Barcelona’s hopes of signing the AC Milan No.14 in 2025.
AC Milan signed Reijnders in a €20m (£16.6m) deal from AZ Alkmaar back in July 2023.
TBR Football also understand Manchester City and Tottenham like Nicolo Fagioli – who Juventus have made available for a January transfer.
What Martin Reijnders said about Tijjani Reijnders
Martin Reijnders – the AC Milan star’s father and agent – has also admitted his son loves life at the San Siro.
The Dutchman told De Telegraaf: “Tijjani feels at home in the club and the city. He’s moved by Milan’s appreciation for him.”
Emilio Reijnders – his brother – added: “Just look at the smile with which he plays. He gives everything, but manages to enjoy himself.”
Therefore, it would be a major shock if a move to the Premier League – or anywhere else for that matter – materialised, with Reijnders clearly delighted to be in Milan right now.
