West Ham would have to have a suitable replacement lined up in order to sack Julen Lopetegui, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported via their website on 4 December that talks are set to continue with a change potentially “in the offing”.
David Sullivan would also only want to make a change in the managerial role if the Hammers’ board agrees to a switch-up.
West Ham need to sack Julen Lopetegui soon
West Ham were one of the few teams that most fans and pundits expected to do well this season after the £120million they spent on bolstering their ranks in the summer.
While some of their arrivals such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka have hit the ground running, others such as Crysencio Summerville haven’t been able to get much of a look in despite the Hammers’ recent poor form.

If West Ham want to end the season in the European places or even the top half of the Premier League table, something has to change at the club and, at the moment, it feels like the best way for that to happen would be to relieve the Spaniard of his duties.
A number of names have already been linked with the role but evidently, unless a suitable replacement crops up, it seems Hammers fans are stuck with the former Wolves boss for the foreseeable future.
In other West Ham news, Alan Pardew has slammed Lucas Paqueta as a “liability”.
