Chelsea fans who made the trip to Southampton will have been absolutely delighted with the performance they saw from their players in the Premier League tonight.
Enzo Maresca certainly took a chance by naming a heavily-rotated side, however got his decisions absolutely spot on as they ran out 5-1 winners away from home.
Joao Felix’s performance proved Maresca was correct to rotate, with him one of those who impressed greatly in a game Chelsea could have even hit double digits.

He wasn’t the only individual who greatly impressed for the Blues tonight though. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was wowed by Noni Madueke, who found the net in the first half.
Everything that could go right did for Chelsea, and their challenge did get a whole lot easier when their opponents went down to 10 men in the first half.

The Chelsea fans were having a field day though, and this was shown by some of the chants they were bringing out towards the end of the game.
Journalist Kieran Gill pointed out a chant that was aimed at Maresca, which the Italian could only applaud as his side put the final touches on the damning defeat.
He said: “Away end at St Mary’s is singing: ‘We’ve got our Chelsea back.’ Followed by: ‘Enzo Maresca.’ Chelsea head coach responds by applauding the fans in the corner.”

Atmosphere at Chelsea changing under Maresca
The atmosphere at Chelsea games has not always been positive in the two and a bit years since Todd Boehly and co took over the ownership of the club.
However, the side they have constructed currently sit just seven points off the top of the table, and while no one will want to admit it are now in a serious title race with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.
They will be hoping to take this fine run of form into their next game, where the stakes are always high as they travel to Tottenham on Sunday.
