Everton ended their goal drought with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Wolves at Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche’s men completely overwhelmed the visitors and moved up to 15th place in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone.
Dyche’s job was on thin ice heading into the clash and there were rumours that the Friedkin Group were drawing up a three-man shortlist to replace him.
But victory has certainly eased the pressure off the former Burnley boss heading into a difficult run of fixtures.
Ashley Young netted the opener for Everton before Orel Mangala added a second, and it was Wolves’ Craig Dawson who scored two own goals to round off the scoring at Goodison Park.
And, it has just emerged that Young’s goal actually made Premier League history.

Ashley Young oldest player to score a direct free-kick in Premier League history
Ashley Young, who celebrated his 39th birthday in July, netted a quite brilliant curling free-kick for the hosts to open the floodgates.
And, it made him the oldest player to ever score from a direct free-kick since the Premier League was formed in 1992.

Everton also revealed that Young became their oldest-ever goalscorer throughout their long 146-year history.
The veteran defender has been a consistent performer under Dyche and despite operating as a full-back, that’s now four goal involvements already this season.
Ageing like fine wine.
Ashley Young stats vs Wolves
Young was awarded the Sofascore Man of the Match for his display and here are his exceptional statistics.
90 minutes played
73 touches
1 goal
7 tackles
8/13 duels won
4 interceptions
As evinced by his underlying data, it was the complete performance from the former Manchester United man.
With Seamus Coleman sidelined through injury, Young has made that position his own and will be hard to be displaced.
He is out of contract at the end of the season but with the way he’s performing, perhaps he could get a one-year extension, taking him into his 40th birthday.
That would be quite remarkable.
