Arsenal player ratings vs Manchester United as William Saliba stunning and Jakub Kiwior steps up

Arsenal secured a fourth win in a row with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United. The Gunners got off to a decent start and had the ball in the net early through Gabriel Martinelli, only for the offside flag to go up.

Thomas Partey then spurned a superb chance from a corner. This was to be the last event of note in a poor-quality first half. Arsenal upped the ante after the break, though, and after chances for Martinelli and Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber eventually nodded them in front from a corner.

The Gunners had a few more chances from open play for the likes of Kai Havertz. But it would take another corner to secure the three points as Partey's back post header bounced in off William Saliba's backside.

The result sees Arsenal gain two points on Liverpool after Arne Slot's side were held to a 3-3 draw by Newcastle. Here's how **football.london** rated the Arsenal players individually in the match.

**David Raya:** Not called upon much but sprung into life superbly to keep out De Ligt's header at 1-0. Just what Arsenal need from their goalie. **7.**

**Jurrien Timber:** Had got forward a few times before his goal but the final ball was off. Made no mistake with a superb header to open the scoring though. **7.**

**William Saliba:** Stood out above the rest in a low quality first half with how well he handled Hojlund and played out. Didn't know a lot about his goal, but deserved the luck for his display. **9.**

**Jakub Kiwior:** Did Arsenal miss Gabriel? Yes. Will he come back into the team when he's fit again? Also yes. But the despair at Kiwior coming in as his replacement was overblown. The Pole didn't put a foot wrong. **8.**

**Oleksandr Zinchenko:** Had a good start to the game and helped Arsenal get a foothold in the middle. Ran out of puff around the hour mark and started to make mistakes, though. No surprise to see him hooked not long after. **6.**

**Thomas Partey:** Grabbed the assist for Saliba's goal, but not one of his better games. Several loose touches in the middle of the park and easy giveaways of possession. **5.**

**Martin Odegaard:** After being so impactful in his last three matches, this was a quieter night for the Norwegian. Still had some nice link ups with Bukayo Saka and set up a nice change for Havertz. **6.**

**Declan Rice:** Some meaty challenges in the middle to help Arsenal win the battle. More superb corner delivery to break the game open for Arsenal too. **7.**

**Bukayo Saka:** Some bright moments down the right flank early doors but faded a touch. Still had superb set piece delivery to call upon. A massive weapon for Arsenal. **7.**

**Kai Havertz:** Some good hold up play to bring his teammates in to play. A quieter day in front of goal than recently as he failed to take his chances. **6.**

**Gabriel Martinelli:** Had the ball in the net early only for the flag to intervene. A little wasteful with the chances he got after that. Caused United problems in behind, though. **6.**

**SUBSTITUTES -**

**Leandro Trossard:** Some decent dribbles down the left wing that looked threatening. The game was won not long after he came on. **6.**

**Mikel Merino:** Should have scored what would have been an amusing third goal from a corner. Good aside from that, as he gave Arsenal control. **6.**

**Jorginho:** Came on too late for a rating. **n/a.**
