Manchester City are finally back to winning ways, after Kevin De Bruyne inspired the team to victory against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Manchester City won 3-0 against the Reds, giving a performance that was much more like it.
It had been seven games without a win for City across all competitions. But fans left the Etihad Stadium tonight happy, after seeing De Bruyne inspire his side to a win.
De Bruyne has been the subject of speculation of late because he’s not been starting games despite being back in training for weeks.
But the team benefitted massively from having him back out there, and he led the side from minute one.
He assisted the opening goal by Bernardo Silva, before adding one himself with a great strike from just inside the area.

That goal was made by Jeremy Doku, who also scored himself in the second-half. And after the game, De Bruyne praised his fellow Belgian, as well as a few others.

Doku caught the eye when he came on for City against Liverpool at the weekend, and his positive cameo against the Reds earned him a start against Forest.
There has been criticism of Doku lately as an attacking player who hasn’t been scoring or assisting as much as he should.
But tonight, he scored and assisted during what was a very lively display.
And it was one that prompted De Bruyne to praise him after the game on Amazon. The 33-year-old also praised a few other teammates.
He said: “I made a couple of mistakes in the first-half but I think Jack did a really good job at carrying the ball and control it a bit.
“The with Bernardo, he is the same type, and Gundo. Then you have Jeremy who’s a very different type of player, he’s very electric. So you have a little bit of a mix today. I think we did well under the circumstances.”

Doku must build on display v Nottingham Forest
So that’s a positive cameo against Liverpool backed up with a great game against Forest from Doku.
The attacking players have underperformed this season for City and Doku is someone who could be providing more.
Hopefully he will now kick on after scoring his first goal for two months, and take some of the burden away from Erling Haaland.
Doku is such a big threat and he could genuinely become one of the game’s top wingers if he just finds a bit more consistency in the final third.
