Fans have shared their reactions on social media after Manchester United lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, December 4. Ruben Amorim suffered his first defeat as head coach of the Red Devils.

Away to title-chasing Arsenal was always going to be a big test for Amorim and his side, the first such test for the Portuguese tactician who oversaw successive wins over Bodo Glimt and Everton. The Gunners were nine points behind leaders Liverpool and keen on closing the gap to the Merseyside club.

Mikel Arteta's side were hit with a double blow before kick-off after it was confirmed that defensive duo of Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori were ruled out through injury. Despite this, they hardly had to move out of second gear as they made light work of the Red Devils to claim a third successive league win.

Football fans shared their thoughts on X after the game, complaining about the Gunners scoring twice from set-pieces.

A fan referred to Arteta's side as a copy of Championship side Stoke City.

"Prime Stoke City", they wrote.

Another fan shared the same sentiment, particularly with the Gunners' reliance on corner kicks.

"Arsenal moving like prime stoke city with these corners", they posted.

A fan called for a return for former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after the defeat.

"Bring back Erik Ten Hag ( #ARSMUN )", they wrote.

A fan lamented the state of the club under Arteta.

"Wenger’s club you know. What happened to my club", they commented.

"Never seen a team since stoke to want so many set pieces.", another fan posted.

Arsenal won the game through two goals in the second half from defenders Jurrien Timber (54') and William Saliba (73'). They fall to third in the table despite their win, finding themselves behind Chelsea on goal difference.

Leny Yoro makes Manchester United debut in defeat to Arsenal

French defender Leny Yoro made his long-awaited debut for Manchester United in their 2-0 defeat to rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The 19-year-old came off the bench in the second half after finally recovering fully from a fractured metatarsal.

Yoro made a matchday squad for the first time this season, having injured his foot in his second pre-season game for the Red Devils against the Gunners. The former Lille man was introduced in the 59th minute in place of Harry Maguire, and finished the game as the right-sided centre-back in their back three.

Manchester United will be excited to finally have highly rated youngster Yoro back to full fitness and will hope to count on him for the remainder of the campaign. The Frenchman will be eager to prove his worth to the Red Devils after a tough start to life at the club.
