Chelsea’s creative geniuses hailed by manager as Blues top the second most important stat in…

After rattling 5 goals past Southampton tonight Chelsea have made themselves top scorers in the Premier League.

What’s even better is the way the goals are spread around. After tonight, Cole Palmer has 9, Nicolas Jackson 8, Noni Madueke 5, Christopher Nkunku and Enzo Fernandez 2, and 5 others have one.

At Liverpool, the second top scoring team for example, Mo Salah has 13 and the numbers fall away quickly after that.

“We said, if you remember the beginning of the season, the two wingers, attacking midfielders and the No.9 are in charge of the goals. It’s a good feeling all of them can be involved in the goals.

Maresca hails double trouble creative duo again

Maresca also reserved special praise for his creative pair of Joao Felix and Cole Palmer, who are pure entertainment as well as regular scorers and assisters for this team.

“We are very happy but Cole, Joao, they are players that can see different things that the others are not able to see. It doesn’t mean the rest are not good.”

This is a riff on what he said after our last league game about Joao Felix and Cole Palmer being on a different level to most players in terms of what they can create.

“Cole Palmer and Joao Felix are the players that make people pay for tickets. It doesn’t mean the rest are not good but they are different from the rest,” he said after we beat Aston Villa.

If the team keep winning and keep entertaining, we’re going to hear a lot more of the positive chants towards the coach and his team.
