Arsenal and Liverpool have both been tipped to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

Arsenal have been tipped to make a January transfer move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Xavi Simons amid reports that he could be on his way out of the French club. There have been suggestions that he could be tempted by a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have been linked with the midfielder since last spring. Simons is currently on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and has impressed during his time with the German side. He has made 54 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists for the club, who sit fourth in the Bundesliga after 12 matches.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Simons could move to Arsenal should he decide to leave, but as things stand nothing has been confirmed regarding his future. The reports states that he has two years left on his contract at PSG, but there is no sign that the midfielder wants to extend his deal.

That means that the French club could be forced into his sale in order to make a profit on Simons who they bought from Eredivisie side PSV in 2023, after he had spent his youth career at the Parc De Princes.

GiveMeSport has suggested that Arsenal is currently the most likely destination for Simons who could slot into Mikel Arteta’s midfield alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. They state that there is interest in the ‘superstar’ from the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga as PSG wouldn’t be short of bids should they decide to sell Simons.
