[Bournemouth](/news/districts/bournemouth/) boss Andoni Iraola praised David Brooks ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Brooks started last weekend at Wolverhampton Wanderers, in place of Antoine Semenyo, who was suspended.
In his pre-match press conference, Iraola tapped on the midfielder’s most recent performance against Wolves, saying: “I think he helped the team to play well. That is the most important thing.
“I’m happy for him because he came from scoring his first goal, the last goal of the game against Brighton, and I suppose he’s happy.”
The goal being referred to was scored during the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/)’ loss to Brighton back in November.
By the end of normal time, Bournemouth were two goals down, and the scoreline was suggesting no reprieve for the home side – until a late goal from Brooks acted as a form of redemption.
The Welshman finished into the top left corner during added time, with 93 minutes on the clock – bringing the final score to 2-1.
This marked Brooks’ first goal of the season for the club, but there were some questions raised over whether he would start against Tottenham, with the return of Semenyo.
But Iraola said Brooks is continuing to build up to full match fitness, saying: “I think he played 60 something minutes after a long time and obviously he finished very, very tired.
“But that’s normal... he's adding more fuel.”
