Manchester United fell to defeat on Wednesday night as Ruben Amorim’s men lost 2-0 away at Premier League title-chasing Arsenal.
Ruben Amorim had tasted victory against Bodo/Glimt and Everton but a trip to the Emirates Stadium was always going to be a little trickier.
Amorim will have been happy with how his Manchester United side set up in the first half, looking fairly composed on the ball and solid off it.
We highlighted that United needed to be strong from set pieces and, sadly, this ended up being United’s undoing.
Arsenal bagged two second-half goals from set pieces to secure a 2-0 victory as Jurrien Timber and William Saliba found the net.
United managed just five shots in total and only two on target, failing to get back into the game after those two goals.

Ruben Amorim shares Leny Yoro verdict
Amorim has now tasted defeat for the first time as United boss but will have found some positives from the loss.
Defender Leny Yoro making an appearance off the bench certainly goes down as a positive.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Yoro joined United from Lille over the summer but suffered a pre-season injury, ruling him out for the opening months of the season.
Amorom hinted at Yoro’s inclusion for the Arsenal clash and the Frenchman came off the bench in the second half.
Yoro showed promise but couldn’t help United avoid defeat and Amorim saw enough from him to be encouraged.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Amorim noted that he was impressed with Yoro in terms of how he defended one-v-one situations.
Amorim highlighted Yoro’s pace too, believing that he equipped himself well in a ‘difficult stadium’.
“You can feel it, the talent, the speed, the way he handled one against ones in a difficult stadium after a lot of time without playing,” said Amorim.
Yoro chances will arrive soon
United fans have been waiting to see Yoro in action but coming on against this Arsenal side was certainly a baptism of fire.
Now that first appearance is out of the way though, Yoro will be looking to kick on and there will be opportunities to come.
Starting against Nottingham Forest this weekend may be a little premature but United take on Viktora Plzen in the Europa League next week.
EFL Cup and FA Cup games are on the horizon too, as well as the busy festive schedule in the Premier League.
Yoro is likely to play a key role moving forward and Amorim certainly seems impressed enough to give him chances in the coming weeks.
