Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slammed Kai Havertz for failing to stay online during the game against Manchester United at the Emirates on Wednesday, December 5. The Gunners secured a 2-0 win over the Red Devils in the Premier League, courtesy of second-half goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.
However, the north London side could have gone ahead in the opening minutes, when Gabriel Martinelli had the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately, the goal was ruled out as Havertz had strayed offside.
Speaking on The Overlap during the game, Wright was furious with the German forward.
“Why was he so sloppy there? He’s just like… look at him! You know what, just there, he’s just got to run half a yard quicker and then he is onside, Havertz. I hate it when forwards don’t get onside. Why don’t they just get back onside? We should be 1-0 up. I’m so tired of seeing strikers do that,” said Wright.
The miss was ultimately forgotten after Timber gave Arsenal the lead in the 54th minute from a corner. Manchester United stepped up after going behind, making multiple changes.
However, the Gunners held on and doubled their lead from another corner. Partey's header stuck Saliba and went across the line, sealing the deal for the north London side. Arsenal are now third in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal next face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, December 7, in the Premier League. The Gunners are currently tied on points with Chelsea, who are second in the table on goal difference.
Mikel Arteta's team have won the last three games in the league and are slowly getting their season back on track. The north London side had a four-game winless run in the league stretching from October to November, which saw them drop down the table.
However, Arsenal seem to have gotten their mojo back following Martin Odegaard's return to full fitness. The Gunners have won eight of their 14 games in the league so far and lost just twice. They have scored 28 goals while conceding 14, and only Liverpool have let in fewer goals in the league.
Fulham, meanwhile, are 12th in the table after 13 games, and face Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Thursday, December 5, in the Premier League. Marco Silva's team have won five and lost four in the league.
