All the talk ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League game against Southampton was about how many changes they were risking making from their win against Aston Villa.
Enzo Maresca took the gamble of making seven changes to his starting side, although did keep the likes of Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo in his starting side.
Joao Felix proved exactly why Maresca took that risk with an excellent performance, with many of those coming into the starting side impressing greatly.
Noni Madueke wowed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with his first-half goal, with Christopher Nkunku also on the scoresheet in just his second Premier League start of the season.

Enzo Maresca confirms Robert Sanchez will start for Chelsea vs Tottenham
At the back, there was a first league start for Chelsea for Filip Jorgensen, who was on hand to make a couple of big saves to halt any chance of Southampton getting back into the game.
He will no doubt be disappointed that he wasn’t able to keep a clean sheet, although will be very happy with his first appearance in the competition.
It doesn’t seem as if this is going to see him remain in the starting side though. Maresca stated after the game that Robert Sanchez would be returning to the side for the game against Tottenham on Sunday.
He said to Football London: “We will play Sanchez and 10 players. That is the only thing for sure.”

Sanchez struggling to win over Chelsea fans
Sanchez has not been the most popular figure amongst Chelsea supporters since his £25m move, and his performances have been inconsistent at the best of times.
Sanchez was named in the Team of the Week for his performance against Villa, and he did show signs of his best particularly denying Ollie Watkins.
Jorgensen will not have long to wait until he returns to the starting side, with him likely to be back in the lineup when they return to Conference League action against Astana in a week’s time.
