Martin Keown was blown away by Everton winger Dwight McNeil in the 4-0 victory against Wolves on Wednesday night.
The Blues took three points in a contest considered a ‘six-pointer’ due to the implications on the Premier League relegation battle.
The 25-year-old played a huge part in the win, his free-kick eventually led to Orel Mangala doubling the Toffees’ lead and both of Craig Dawson’s own goals were from his deliveries.
Former Toffees defender Keown was impressed by the ex-Burnley man on Match of the Day (4 December), saying: “McNeil, his quality that he puts in is ridiculous, he’s a player now playing off the front, he’s got really good quality.
Again look, McNeil another ball in, they can’t defend it.”

McNeil won’t get the credit he deserves for Everton win
While he won’t add to his three assists so far this season, since an opposition player put the ball into the net, his contributions meant that the Blues ended a run of five games without a win.
Dyche’s side were crying out for an ounce of quality in the final third, having failed to score in their last four league matches.
His deliveries for the two own goals were particularly problematic for Wolves, they were going straight to Dominic Calvert-Lewin if Dawson did not intervene.

The Blues must utilise McNeil’s threat from set-pieces to avoid another brutal survival battle in their final season at Goodison Park.
The former Burnley man will hope to pick up where he left off in Saturday’s Merseyside derby as his side approach a wicked run of games that includes Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The Wolves clash was marked as a must-win and McNeil ensured that the Blues did just that ahead of a potentially dismal festive period.
