A new-look Morgan Rogers and the same old Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
In recent weeks, Aston Villa have been off-colour, not winning in eight matches in all competitions, including losing 3-0 at Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
That put pressure on the Aston Villa players heading into their Wednesday night game against free-scoring Brentford at Villa Park.
You would presume that there would be nerves in the air for the home side, but it was far from it, as a new look and a blonde-haired Morgan Rogers opened the scoring after 21 minutes and it started the ball rolling.
By the 34th minute, Villa had scored their third goal – after Ollie Watkins’ penalty and Matty Cash’s penalty – Unai Emery’s side were deservedly 3-0 up and back to their old selves.
In the end, Villa secured a much-needed win and Rogers sent an interesting message to his best mate and Chelsea star, Cole Palmer, on Instagram.

For the first time in Rogers’ career, he was under pressure and being questioned amid his poor run of form and questions from fans if he should be starting.
But that was a top display from the Englishman, including scoring on the same evening as Palmer did for Chelsea during their thumping win at Southampton.

Remember, Rogers told Palmer – before their meeting at the weekend – that he’s ‘never scored against Villa’, before he did and that conversation was then made public.

Hence why Rogers posted on IG ‘don’t poke the bear’, as he tagged Palmer into the conversation and then added ‘WAIT @ezrikonsa’.
Interestingly enough, the 22-year-old didn’t do his usual cold celebration, but instead, put his finger in between his ears seemingly shutting out the noise.

Class is permanent and Rogers proved that against Brentford – who has now scored four Premier League goals this term.
Palmer responded to Rogers’ message on IG by telling him ‘Did it on purpose. Wanted you to score my boy’, added with a laughing and heart emoji.
Ollie Watkins also sent a message to his teammate: ‘Well done, my bro’, with academy product Tommi O’Reilly adding ‘so good’ and Aaron Ramsey saying ‘finish you’.
