Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has urged people to 'keep doubting' the Gunners after they cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to seven points.
Mikel Arteta's men made it four wins in four in all competitions on Wednesday night as they beat Manchester United 2-0. Nicolas Jover was the man of the moment once again as Jurrien Timber and William Saliba both scored from set-pieces.
The win moves the Gunners up to 28 points, just seven behind league leaders Liverpool. Arne Slot men's run of seven straight wins came to an end on Tyneside as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Newcastle.
Since losing to Newcastle and Inter Milan at the start of November, Arsenal have beat Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Sporting CP and Manchester United. "We try to look at our own business, try to perform the way we are doing at the moment and find ways to win the game," Arteta said.
"I think the team deserved the win today which is very good. What the opposition [Liverpool] does we cannot control. You can see week in, week out how good the oppositions are; it's difficult for everybody."
Confidence is high at the Emirates Stadium and this weekend is another opportunity to close in on Liverpool. The Gunners travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham on Sunday after Liverpool's first Merseyside derby of the season.
Following the win over United, Rice posted a warning to the north Londoners' Premier League title rivals on social media. Posing with the Premier League Man of the Match trophy, the midfielder wrote: "keep doubting *smiling face emoji*."
If the post is anything to go by, the feeling in the dressing room is that Arsenal can replace Liverpool at the top of the table over the Christmas period.
