Roy Keane has hit out at Marcus Rashford after Manchester United's 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday (December 4). The Red Devils legend said the forward was 'shocking' against the Gunners and added that he was not good enough against the Gunners.
Speaking on The Overlap podcast, Keane said he was not impressed with any Manchester United player against Arsenal. He opined that there were no positives in the loss to the Gunners, saying:
"I’ll tell you something, Marcus Rashford came on there. His general play as a footballer is shocking. Watch his header there. Have United’s subs given anything since coming on? Nothing. The subs have done nothing. Man United deserve nothing anyway. They were rubbish. You know what happens with United? They fool you, they fool you."
He added:
"They’re not dynamic. Not tonight, no. I’m really disappointed with Man United. I thought the players were going through the motions a little bit. It was easy for Arsenal. The first half was fine but I was expecting a bit more. The manager’s probably thinking he thought United were a bit better than this. I was getting really frustrated at the end there."
Jurrien Timber and William Saliba scored from corners in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Manchester United. Sitting in the third position in the league, the Gunners closed the gap on Liverpool to seven points after the Reds drew 3-3 with Newcastle United on Wednesday.
Ruben Amorim believes more training would have helped Manchester United beat Arsenal
Ruben Amorim spoke to the media after Manchester United's loss to Arsenal and said it was a 'tough' match. He added that the set pieces were defendable but they needed more training.
“Tough game," Amorim said (via GOAL). "We tried to play our game, especially in the first half. We need more trainings. The set pieces change everything, change the momentum. It was really hard for them. We tried, but we had two set pieces and didn’t score. They scored. We have to understand that they have years of doing that [set pieces]."
"Even when you are here for so long, you can see how their set-pieces can change that. We tried to defend them in the space of two days to train," he added.
Manchester United are 11th on the league table and could slip to 13th if Fulham and Bournemouth win their matches on Thursday. The Red Devils have collected 19 points from their 14 matches this season, scoring 17 times.
