Wolves were thrashed 4-0 by fellow relegation rivals Everton to leave Gary O’Neil on the brink of losing his job.
It was another defensive horror show from Wolves at Goodison Park, with Gary O’Neil’s men conceding several times from set-pieces.
O’Neil’s decision to keep Mario Lemina in defence backfired drastically, while Craig Dawson scoring two own goals just about summed up their horrible night.
Wolves fans want O’Neil sacked immediately, knowing that the situation at Molineux won’t improve while he’s in the dugout, as they continue to look in disarray defensively.
Luckily for the fans, his sacking could be around the corner, as pundit Gary Lineker noticed something at full-time which suggests the writing is on the wall.

Gary Lineker thinks Gary O’Neil will get sacked by Wolves
O’Neil could have no answers to what he just saw on the pitch at full-time and the 41-year-old looked a dejected figure in his post-match interview.
Analysing the game for BBC Match of the Day on Wednesday night, Lineker felt O’Neil’s ‘demeanour’ gave the impression he knew he was going to be shown the exit door.
“Gary O’Neil’s demeanour there, it looked like he thought he was going,” Lineker said.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
It’s become clear that, while Wolves went on a four-match unbeaten run before the previous two collapses, the managers’ position in the dugout has become untenable.
Wolves simply need to replace O’Neil before next weekend’s showdown against West Ham; otherwise, the fans will be left even more outraged.
Who should replace O’Neil at Wolves?
It’s the question that is on everyone’s minds as the fans debate who should come in and replace O’Neil, should he get handed his P45.
In their desperate situation at the bottom of the Premier League table, Wolves can’t afford to take any gambles with their appointment and need to hire someone who is used to surviving in the top-flight.
Wolves placed Rob Edwards and David Moyes on their shortlist, with Moyes perhaps the ideal successor to O’Neil, as he’s one of the most experienced managers out there.
The Scotsman doesn’t play the most easy-on-the-eye football however, he would make the Old Gold defensively solid and more difficult to beat.
Right now, it’s alarming how easy sides have to work to break through O’Neil’s set-up, with a team like Everton – who have struggled to score this term – putting four past them.
Moyes, who has managed the third most games in Premier League history, is the perfect short-term replacement who can drag them away from danger.
