Ruud van Nistelrooy impressed on his first game as Leicester City manager as the Foxes beat West Ham United.
The Foxes ended a run of five Premier League games without a win and moved four points clear of the bottom three.
Van Nistelrooy’s half time tactical change was key to Leicester’s win and the Foxes looked good value for the win – despite surrendering 31 shots.
In the run up to the game there had been doubts from the likes of Emile Heskey about Van Nistelrooy’s appointment but the Dutchman has already caught the eye of some stars, including former teammates.

The Stick to Football podcast is among one of the most popular amongst football fans up and down the country and the group decided to do a live watch along of the Wednesday Premier League fixtures.
On the panel were some of Van Nistelrooy’s former Manchester United teammates such as Roy Keane and Gary Neville.
At one point, the topic turned to the 48-year-old and his first game in charge. Although brief, Keane said: “Good start from Ruud last night?”

Everyone else on the livestream was in agreement and given that they are all former teammates of the new Leicester manager, will be keeping a closer eye on the Foxes.

Keane had a reputation for being a no-nonsense captain and was never one to shy away from telling some home truths.
Reminiscing about playing alongside Keane, Van Nistelrooy revealed how Keane didn’t mince his words when it came to telling the 48-year-old what he thought of an item of his clothing.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with Five podcast back in 2021, he said: “He was direct, everybody knows that and in the beginning I had to get used to that directness.
I had this hairband, you know? For three months, every day he was talking about that hairband: ‘get that thing out of your hair! What the **** are you doing with that thing? You’re in the Premier League now!’
“That was banter in the dressing room, but he kept you on your toes, you know?”
