Gary Neville fuming
Gary Neville was not impressed by Ian Wright's celebrations
Gary Neville and Roy Keane did not enjoy Ian Wright’s company on Wednesday night after having to listen to him gloat about Arsenal’s win over Manchester United.
The Gunners eased to a 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s side in the Premier League thanks to two goals from corners. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring from Declan Rice’s delivery in the 54th minute before William Saliba inadvertently converted after Thomas Partey’s back-post header hit him.
Mikel Arteta’s side had 13 corners on the night and looked threatening from most of them as they continued their strong form since the international break. United struggled to create much and were undone by Arsenal’s prowess from set pieces.
Former United players Neville and Keane watched the game live on The Overlap with ex-Arsenal striker Wright and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher. Predictably, Wright did not try to dial down his celebrations when Arsenal found the back of the net.

After Timber’s goal went in, Wright stood up, clapped and cackled before saying “YES!” a few times for good measure. “Sit down a second will ya?” an irritated Keane responded.
By the time Saliba had wheeled away to celebrate Arsenal’s second goal, things had become even more glum for Keane and Neville. “Wrighty, sit down! Childish!” Keane said before joking: “He’s offside, the flag’s up!”
Meanwhile, Neville broke out of his misery but was not ready to get Arsenal any credit for their dominance at set pieces. "That's a looped corner, that. That's s***, that," he declared. "I've got some sympathy on the whipped ones, I've not got any sympathy on that one."

Ian Wright didn't hold back with his goal celebrations
After watching the replay, Neville changed his tune slightly. "I'll tell you what, I'll give some credit where credit's due," he said to Wright.
"He's whipped everyone into the near post, so all the United players are in at the near post, and two of the Arsenal players are hung out at the back against [Noussair] Mazraoui and he's (Partey) literally got a free header. You've played them."
Understandably, Arteta had a different take on the subject. “We need that,” he said in his post-match press conference. “I think we want to be very dangerous and very effective from every angle and every phase of play.
“Today we could have scored from open play like we did against West Ham and Sporting. The team really has that belief that from every angle we have the mentality to threaten the opponent and try to score. Today was two set-pieces. We had 13 corners. We have to take a lot from that.”
