A look at the latest injury situation as Brentford prepare to face Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Brentford are back in action on Saturday after an away defeat to Aston Villa during the week. The result sent the Bees crashing back down to earth after a very convincing win over Leicester City.
Jamaal Lascelles - Out
Lascelles is out until at least February with Howe having said: “I should be back on the grass soon and jogging in the next few weeks. It'll take me a while to build up from there, but I'm happy to be ticking those boxes, and now it's about getting my boots back on and progressing slowly that way.”
Emil Krafth - Out
Krafth will be hoping to return towards the end of January from his shoulder injury. Howe has said: “Emil has had an operation. We anticipate he’s going to be out for six to eight weeks. It’s a big blow to us to lose Emil, who has been such a consistent performer.”
Sven Botman - Out
Howe has said of Botman’s knee injury: “We hope Sven can begin light training in the next few weeks. If we see him before the end of the year, that would be a bonus. We are probably looking at more like January.”
Kieran Trippier - Doubt
Tripper has been out with a virus but could be in contention here.
Josh DaSilva - Out
Frank has said of DaSilva : “Josh (Dasilva) is further down the line. Rico (Henry) is progressing, but it's still not like he will play next week.”
Gustavo Nunes - Doubt
Nunes is due to return from his back injury but he was not involved during the week.
Kristoffer Ajer - Doubt
Frank says Ajer has a chance of featuring, saying earlier this week: “He trained with the team yesterday and today, but it is too early for tomorrow. It could be too early [for Saturday], but let’s see.”
Aaron Hickey - Out
Hickey is out long term, with Frank saying back in August: “The procedure involved the removal of the previous repair sutures and making a new tendon repair. Now we aim to start afresh and help Aaron return to his previous level of health and performance.”
Rico Henry - Out
Frank said recently: “Soon, hopefully. I think Rico will be back sooner than Hickey. I’ve said in a press conference recently, instead of getting your hopes up too high I will just say, ‘This week, they are involved in the squad.”
Jensen is currently out with a hamstring issue.
