Inter Miami CF v New York City FC

David Beckham had to deal with some light ribbing from his son Romeo after his former side Manchester United lost 2-0 against Arsenal.
In Ruben Amorim’s first big test since arriving in the Premier League, his new side turned in a defensively resolute display to keep the hosts at bay in the first-half.
But Arsenal’s impeccable corner kick routines broke them down in the second-half with Jurrien Timber scoring his first goal for the club, nodding home from Declan Rice’s cross.
And the Red Devils were undone again from a corner with Saliba’s backside in the right place at the right time to double his side’s lead after 73 minutes, securing a hard-fought three points and putting pressure on Liverpool at the top of the table.
The fixture is somewhat of a rivalry within the Beckham household, with Romeo supporting Arsenal despite his dad’s links with United.
Before the match, the 49-year-old’s son posted on social media: ‘Big game in the old Beckham household today @davidbeckham. COYG.’
But the Inter Miami owner quipped back: ‘Big game for you lot. Just another game for us.’

However, it was Romeo who had the last laught at full-time following Arsenal’s win, sending a final message on his Instagram which simply read: ‘Sleep well @davidbeckham’.
Speaking earlier in the year, Beckham revealed that his son’s love of Arsenal came about after a memorable interaction with former manager Arsene Wenger.
‘He was really young and we were in London one Friday and he was like, “Dad let’s go to a game this weekend”,’ he said in an interview with Rio Ferdinand.
‘So I started to look at the fixtures and I was like “Arsenal are at home”. So I thought, do you know what, they’re always really nice to me when I go down to watch United and Arsenal, and I thought okay, they’ll look after us, there won’t be any hassle getting in.
‘No hassle, sat there. So we walked in, amazing seats. Sat in the director’s box. Lunch was unbelievable before the game. We walk in, I’m sat there and then Arsene walks in the room and he comes straight over to the table, introduces himself to Romeo, and he says “come with me son”.
‘So he takes him down to the changing room, meets all the players, gives him a shirt, signed, takes him onto the pitch, walks him back up to the table and then gives him an Arsenal cashmere scarf, and that was it. It was done.’
