Even with Everton coming away with a huge 4-0 victory over Wolves on Wednesday night, Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison was unable to come out of the game with much credit in the bank.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is likely paying no attention to the form of those that are out on loan at the moment, having bigger fish to fry at Thorp Arch in preparing for Derby County this weekend.
However, for the club, it’s an interesting side-narrative worth monitoring to see if any of the players out on loan are any closer to justifying a permanent exit.

Jack Harrison: Everton blow Wolves away with 4-0 win
For Jack Harrison, it looks as though a fight to stay in the Premier League at Everton is ensuing once more, in his second Goodison Park stint after capitalising on his loan clause in the summer.
He’s fallen out of favour with Sean Dyche of late and was on the bench for their huge meeting at home to Wolves on Wednesday, watching on as they battered Gary O’Neil’s men with a stunning 4-0 win.
Goals from Orel Mangala, Ashley Young and then two second half own goals from Craig Dawson sealed a win that moves the Toffees onto 14 points – five clear of the bottom three.

Jack Harrison makes “mess” of lates chances in sub cameo
Shortly after Dawson turned into his own goal for 4-0, Harrison was introduced and put in a shift as usual, but again failed to show quality in the final third.
This was his 13th Premier League outing of the season, and he’s without a goal or assist, which really should have changed with the chances presented to him by both Jesper Lindstrom and Armando Broja.
He got a 6/10 rating from the Liverpool Echo, but his review makes for grim reading:
“Lively showing off the bench but made a mess of a late shot that went high into the Gwladys Street when Lindstrom put a chance on a plate for him and then another when fed by Broja.”
Chances of Leeds securing big permanent Harrison fee from Everton slimming by the week
With every passing week, it seems as though Harrison’s stock amongst the Everton fans, and even with Dyche, is plummeting.
He needs to get off the mark ASAP in front of goal to restore his confidence, but even when the chances are on a plate, he’s wasteful.
It worries me that Everton are going to draw out their discussions over a permanent deal for Harrison, and we’re left with a depreciating value that no one actually wants.
