Palmeiras have made sure the Brazilian league title race goes to the final day this weekend after a late 2-1 victory away to Cruzeiro in midweek. They remain second in the Brazilian Serie A and are three points behind leaders Botafogo, so they’ll need results to go their way to lift the league crown.
Estevao scored a 90th-minute free-kick to clinch three points and keep Palmeiras in the title race.
Here’s how Brazilian media reacted to the latest masterclass from the Chelsea youngster:
Globo wrote: “Estevao. 9/10. He is not considered a star for nothing. He went against the routine, took the free kick and with one shot saved Verdao’s chance of winning the title, which will go to the final round. He had space, led counterattacks, exchanged passes with Rios for the first goal and tried eight shots until finally securing the goal.”

Chelsea could integrate Estevao to their squad next season, so fans may not have to wait long to see the left-footed magician in their first team.
