Matty Cash is now undroppable at Aston Villa after his performance against Brentford on Wednesday.

The Villans secured a much-needed three points on 4 December thanks to three first-half goals at Villa Park.

Morgan Rogers opened the scoring before Ollie Watkins converted a penalty and the Poland international grabbed the third with an excellent volley.

This capped off a superb overall performance which could make him undroppable for Unai Emery ahead of the visit of Southampton on Saturday (7 December).

The 27-year-old has had some tough times with injuries so far this season but proved against the Bees that he does have useful qualities to add to the side in B6.

This was on show at Villa Park as the right-back got on the scoresheet with an excellent volley, ignoring any question of offside against Watkins.

Cash’s work on the ball would have pleased Emery as he took 53 touches on the ball and completed 27 passes with an 84 per cent accuracy in a positive return.

The Pole isn’t typically the best defensively but against Brentford showed his best form at the back as he won four tackles from five attempts.
