Lucas Hernandez returns to first-team training at PSG

Lucas Hernández (28) has been out of action since suffering a serious anterior ligament injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund in May.

It was an injury that required surgery and also saw him ruled out of Euro 2024. He has missed the start of the current campaign too but is now nearing a return. As confirmed by the club in a press release, Hernandez returned to first-team training on Thursday. His delay had been temporarily halted by a minor illness in recent days, one that he has now overcome.

Out since May, Hernandez is ahead on his recovery and could yet play for PSG before the winter break and before the turn of the year. Before the winter break, PSG face AJ Auxerre, RB Salzburg, Olympique Lyonnais, AS Monaco, before concluding 2024 with a visit to RC Lens in the Coupe de France on 22nd December.
