Mohamed Salah is moving closer to potentially breaking a Premier League record with Liverpool. The Egyptian scored two goals as the Reds were held to a 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Curtis Jones was also on the score sheet for Liverpool, but it was not enough to secure the victory as the Reds dropped two points in the title race. Arne Slot's team are now seven points clear of Arsenal and Chelsea in the table and nine ahead of Manchester City.
Salah has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season, scoring 15 goals with 12 assists in 21 appearances in all competitions. His brace against Newcastle saw Salah move to the top of the Premier League Golden Boot rankings, with his 13 goals now one more than the 12 scored by Erling Haaland.

As a result of scoring against Newcastle, Salah has now found the back of the net in the last seven consecutive Premier League matches for Liverpool. The run stretches back to when the 32-year-old scored in the Reds' win over Chelsea in October and has since scored against Arsenal, Brighton, Aston Villa, Southampton, Man City and Newcastle.
Salah has broken many records during his seven-and-a-half years as a Liverpool player. Despite the disappointment of the draw with Newcastle, the Egyptian will have an eye on a new record, this time one that covers the entire Premier League.
At the moment, Jamie Vardy holds the record for the longest run of consecutive Premier League matches scoring a goal, which currently stands at 11 that came from August to November in 2015. Vardy himself has a decent record against Liverpool, scoring 10 times across his 17 appearances against the Reds.
In order for Salah to equal the record, he would need to score in each of Liverpool's next four top-flight matches. That run will see the Reds face Everton, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.
Should Salah equal the record, then he would do so against the Foxes on Boxing Day, which could see Vardy - the current record-holder - in the opposition team. In order to break the record, Salah would then need to score against West Ham at the London Stadium on October 29.
