Erling Haaland would have been over the moon to have witnessed his Manchester City side finally get the all-important three points in their latest win against Nottingham Forest.
Haaland has scored a mere three league goals in his past 10 outings and against Forest, he would have been hoping to get on the scoresheet.
Mohamed Salah’s brace in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle United meant he is now the league’s top goalscorer with 13 goals.
However, the Manchester City striker registered his first league assist of the season, playing a brilliant pass out on to the wing for Jeremy Doku, who took his goal extremely well.
The service provided to the 24-year-old was not the best, even though Pep Guardiola’s men carved out several goalscoring opportunities.

The Leeds-born goalscorer’s hold-up play was excellent, as he often dropped deep, bullied the Forest defenders and laid the ball off to his teammates.
The former Borussia Dortmund marksman put himself about during a selfless performance and showcased once again that his game is not solely centered around scoring goals.
After Manchester City beat Nottingham Forest, Haaland reserved a special message on X for his teammates to consistently win games after ending their winless streak.
“Great win from the team after a tough run! Let’s put that behind us now and look forward.”
Haaland was one of the many Manchester City players to have his say after their side’s latest victory.
Doku reacted to Manchester City’s win where he emphasised the need for his side to build on Wednesday’s result.
Grealish’s reaction to Manchester City’s victory was also one where he was “happy” to be back on the pitch.
De Bruyne’s thoughts on Manchester City’s win were restricted to being appreciative of the fans and the result.
